Subtitle issue

Postby kaetakara » 13 Aug 2014 06:09

I am currently trying to have VLC auto play the subtitles that are embedded in the video.

I have gone into Tools -> Preferences -> All -> Input / Codecs and changed the Subtitle track ID to different options.

It was defaulted at -1. I have tried 0 - 2 and all the options still leave the subtitles as disabled when I restart and load a video.

I did the same with the audio as it has English and Japanese audio and had no issue with the audio in the video.

Can anyone help me out here?

By "subtitles that are embedded in the video" do you mean an MKV file with SSA subtitles? :P
For setting a specific language/track automatically I never tried it... :-|
Maybe there's a bug in those options you mentioned!
But for setting it manually, go to "Tools -> Codec information" and check if there is at least one "Stream #" of "Type: Subtitle"
If there is, then right click the video window and select "Subtitle -> Sub Track -> Track #"
Done! 8)
