Time mismatch between VLC and PowerDVD.

Postby srijithv » 19 May 2014 13:00

Hello,

First of all I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people involved in the various aspects of VLC for such an awesome software. I have been using VLC for years and also use VLC for many projects.

I am facing an issue using VLC. Just recently I noticed a mismatch during playback for a DVD.

I played the DVD from VLC directly and from command prompt(dvdsimple:///E:/). I played the the same DVD in PowerDVD and this is where I noticed the difference. When I pause at a particular time the two players are playing totally different video frame. I noticed a lag of almost 8 secs (A particular scene in the movie was at 00:00:16 in VLC and at 00:00:24 in PowerDVD). I started noticing this when I tried to match a subtitle time (have a file with time references for a subtitle stream). I have played different dvd and also asked other friends (they too observed the same difference)

The total run time displayed is same in both the players.

I have verified in the following VLC versions (2.0.8, 2.1.1, 2.1.3).

Could anyone please advice me for any possible reason for the same.

Thanks
