lgpl only build

Postby hovis » 05 May 2014 16:56

Is there any way to build a version of libvlc + the modules which are under lgpl and exclude anything gpl?

I could not see an '--exclude-gpl' or similar option in configure similar in idea to say libav's '--enable-gpl' option.

The idea was considered, but discarded because a correct implementation seemed impractical, not to say outright impossible. (Some dependant libraries have variable licenses too...)
