VLC caching / buffering behavior

Hello,

I'd like to enforce constant buffering/caching once I start a video file over the network, I have put 10 sec to cache before playing.

The problem is that VLC caches 10 seconds, plays 10 seconds of cached material, then stops and caches again 10, repeat...

How do I get VLC to start caching and doesn't stop / to always cache in forward?
