.asx tag <Duration Value = "hh:mm:ss"> is inop?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

.asx tag <Duration Value = "hh:mm:ss"> is inop?

Postby DaveVLC » 06 Jan 2014 17:46

I've just checked with the latest version and this still doesn't seem to work (playing from file-based .asx file pointing to file-based mp4s), but I can't believe I'm the only one who is annoyed by this.

Does it work for anyone else?

If I set <StartTime value = "hh:mm:ss"> the start is correct, but does not stop at the end of the Duration value. Duration as described by ms, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... s.85).aspx

Also, I note that when play starts and a StartTime value is set the slider starts at the StartTime value, but I would expect the slider to be at 00:00:00 as media "before" the StartTime should be unavailable. And similarly the right-hand end of the slider should correspond to the Duration value, not the full length of the media.

Workarounds appreciated.

Cheers

This is just not implemented. You need to force it.

Thanks, well at least I know it is not just "me".

If I add it to the bug list is it likely to get implemented?

When you say "force it", you mean manually stop the play? There is no other programmatic way of doing it (different playlist file format?)?

Thanks

No, this is about asx parsing.
