subtitles when playing file from network

Postby gareins » 16 Jan 2014 01:55

Firstly, freaking great job by programmers, kudos and respect.
And secondly, yeah, I know, it is kind of an edge case scenario.

file: http://snopc.eu/public.php?service=file ... b&download

The file is encoded using handbrake and it has 2 subtitle files included in container. If you download the file, everything works as expected, with subtitles and all.
But when you try to go | ctrl+n->enter link->play | , it spits "undf" error and subtitles just don't show up, even though you can select one from the menu.

So, I see four options:
- subtitles are at the end of a file and it's just not possible to show them without downloading the whole file
- subtitles are at the end of a file, but i could reencode the file, so they would be in the beginning and it would work then
- it is a VLC bug
- i am just completely wrong

Any help on the topic would be appreciated.

mp4 has tags in the end. This might be related to your issue.
