input-slave with raw inputs

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

input-slave with raw inputs

Postby tvtalkshowshigh » 17 Dec 2013 13:09

I'm trying to play (ultimately encode) two separate raw essence files - uyvy422 video and PCM s16l audio. I can play each of these separately with VLC using the rawaud and rawvideo demux modules, but I can't add an input slave when using either of those.

It looks to me like input-slave is not compatible with raw demux. Could someone please confirm that so I can stop trying to make VLC do something it won't?

Many thanks.

Yes, some formats are not compatible, because they don't know how to synchronize.

Thanks. That makes sense.
I'll use something else for the encoding, and use VLC for the streaming.
