Problems when updating to the latest release

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Problems when updating to the latest release

Postby jagman55 » 26 Nov 2013 19:44

One issue that really upsets me is the inability or my lack knowledge of how to avoid redesigning the CUSTOMIZE INTERFACE when faced with an UPDATE.

Every time my antivirus tells me VLC is 'not up-to-date' and I update it, I avoid the update as
I know my CUSTOMIZE INTERFACE will be LOST just like today.

I really like the ability to customize that interface and add buttons, but to lose it constantly? Why bother if it can not be made permanently.

Is there not a way to SAVE it from update to update or random lost?

I SAVE it sometimes to the SELECT PROFILE but that does no good as it disappears for no reason BUT always after an update.
It gets tiresome to REDESIGN the interface with every update.
Is there a way to SAVE it from time to time so the update does not erase all the effort of my design?

Am I missing the knowledge or has no one thought to Save the customize interface for us?

ANY help you can offer?

First, please post in the correct forum.

Then, from 2.1.1 and over, it should be kept.

Save your files in your %appdata%/vlc/ folder
