H.265 playback problem

Postby Xymos » 19 Nov 2013 21:19

Jean,

I am experiencing corruption when trying use VLC to watch a h.265 file. I tried a different trial player and the video played back fine. Any help?

Thanks!

Yes, I'm also experiencing the same issue with some HEVC files but we need more info.

What is your OS ? What is your hardware ?

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of a problematic file to either http://streams.videolan.org/upload/ or to Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) or to EmbedUpload.com, the latter will upload the file for you to several other hosts (use the default ones) and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

50 MB max should be enough.

Try also VLC 2.1.2 nightly builds, where some issues on the h265 decoder were fixed.

The sure this is that we don't support TS.

Are there any plans to support h265 in TS files soon? As stated VLC 2.1.2 does not support h265/x265 in TS containers. I think only in MP4/M4V and MKV containers at the moment. Is that correct?
