Opening a File ...

Postby Orrymain » 26 Oct 2013 04:37

I have the new version 2.1.0 though I have to say it was a nightmare to install. It was the first time I've had issues doing it so there must have been something weird about this update. That said, one of the things that is a bit of an annoyance now is that every time I click on a file in my file manager, it opens a brand new instance of VLC. In the past, even if a song was playing, if I clicked on another file, it would stop the song being played and play the new song. Now it actually opens a new VLC window instead of just playing in the open VLC. What can I do to get it to go back to how it used to be without opening a new VLC window every time?

That doesn't help me at all. Care to be just a bit more specific about what I need to look at under preferences and what should or shouldn't be checked to handle this?
