VLC 2.0.8 won't auto update to 2.10?

So I checked the windows forum and this forum to see if this issue was reported and couldn't find anything.

It's obviously a small issue since you can just manually download the newest version, but I wouldn't have known there was a newer version out until I installed VLC on a new machine.

So, on both my MAC (OSX 10. and 2 PCs (Vista, Win7), I have 2.0.8 installed. When I click the "check for update" feature, I get the message that I have the latest version.

Is there some reason I shouldn't update to 2.10?
