finally upgraded and now can't view any video's

Postby Auntie Lyn » 06 Oct 2013 17:48

Please help... I finally upgraded my VideoLAN and now all video is a bunch of colored vertical lines. The audio is great. I'm sure this is a simple matter, but apparently my simple mind is just not connecting. Any help would be appreciated. The reason I finally upgraded today was my skinned VLN was freezing my whole computer after about 45 seconds. (I just upgraded from 1.8 to 2.1) Here is a snap of what I am seeing on any video I try. Previous to today, I had no problems seeing the video, and only recently began having freezing difficulties.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give this old lady :D

Try to set different video output module:
Tools > Preferences > ( Show settings = Simple ) > Video > Output

I tried each one, saved and restarted but that did not change the video. Thanks for trying :(

Then try to reset preferences by deleting "%appdata%\vlc" folder. Often suggested solution here usually helps.
