Window resizing

I like the resize interface to video feature, but in 2.0.8 when you manually adjusted the window size it would keep that size until you closed vlc. How do I get it to do that in 2.1? For example if I opened a 1920x1080 video and manually adjusted the window to make it 1700x1080 and double clicked an other 1920x1080 it would keep the window at 1700x1080, but if I closed vlc and opened the 1920x1080 it would be the full resolution again. I prefer it to work like that and it is annoying that it has been changed to always readjust to window.
