Dell Warranty

Postby anupsabraham » 03 Oct 2013 04:33

I didn't know where to post this. Please forgive if the post is wrong.

I have a Dell Inpiron(15R Turbo) Laptop with built-in Skullcandy stereo speakers. I recently contacted Dell customer service regarding some error found in my laptop. While troubleshooting my laptop the technical support person at Dell mentioned that using VLC media player on the system will void my speaker warranty. Can anybody say why is this so? I've been using VLC since I first used it and never experienced any problem with the speakers. Is there any way to keep using VLC and acquire the warranty on speakers when necessary?

That would depend on your local consumer protection laws and the wording of the warranty contract.
