Time/episode resuming?

Hello. I tend to watch my shows at random times (thanks to school & life in general), and close VLC without logging the time/episode. I was wondering if I could put all of my episodes/videos into a playlist, and be able to resume from the same episode/time when I reopen it. I'm not that familiar with VLC at the moment, and I hope there is a way to do this. Thanks for reading.
