Missing BD menu workarounds?

Postby nick_br » 13 Jul 2013 14:20

I know the menus for BDs are in the pipeline and I also know how to select the video-, audio- and subtitle-tracks via the context menu. But since these tracks are just labeled with numbers from 1 to n, it is sometimes extremely cumbersome. I.e. sometimes episodes of a series aren't in the correct order on the disc or browsing a disc with special features, you never know, what you get. Or setting the right audio/subtitle-track is often just trial and error.

So I wondered, if it would be somehow possible to get to that information (names/lables/captions of tracks etc.). Like with any built in hidden developer function. Or even more low-level by just reading some i.e. XML file. Or maybe there's any other tool out there which could do this. This would make the wait for the working BD menus much more easier ;)

BTW, is there any ETA or is it just "when it's done"?

VLC 2.1.0 should have more menus, but it's "when it's done".
