Cannot select 2nd audio track by default

Postby Computer Blue » 14 Apr 2013 22:24

I use Handbrake to encode my DVDs in mp4 format. I use the default "High Profile" settings so there is are 2 audio tracks: track #1 is AAC and track #2 is AC3 Passthru. I must leave AAC as track #1 so it works with my tablet.

My problem is when I use VLC on my PC, it will not default to audio track #2 as desired. I have tried to change this by changing in Advanced Preferences by going to "Input/Codecs" and changing "Audio Track" from -1 to 1. However, when I set this the audio comes up disabled (no audio track selected). I have also tried setting this on the command line using "--audio-track=1" and get the same problem.

I can easily select track 2 manually once it's running, but is there any way to make this the default?

Thanks.

I am not expert, but anytime I have asked this also, as I couldt not serve my older home videos with two audio streams an miniDVC. Since this time I only produces home videos with one 16bit audio stream (two channels, stereo)
VLC uses all (or only the first) audiostream, but you cannot select any other, sorry.
Or any expert knows more here?
