Updating with or without deinstall ?

Postby Gwendoe » 14 Apr 2013 01:10

I think my problem is not specifically related to my OS 10.6.8 system, so I ask my question (in my first post) here : when I just had VLC look for updates, it (wrongfully) says VLC 2.0.5 is now the latest version. Maybe becauce I have a duch version and the latest in duch is not yet released ? Becauce I read about the memoryleak in 2.0.5 and the recent fix, I want to upgrade to 2.0.6 a.s.p. without deinstalling the old one. Don't mind if it is in english. Is that possible ? How ? Or should/can I just simply drag vlc.app to trash first and install the latest version ? If I do that , no 'rest-bits-files-scripts' are left behind ?

Yes, just drag the new one and it will work.
