Artifacting in top left corner of screenn

Postby css_switchfoot » 08 Apr 2013 11:48

I've had this problem ever since I've gotten this Lenovo Y470P laptop. I never really noticed it at first.

The top left corner of the video constantly has static or very light artifacting. This occurs in a variety of media players.

The formats I've tested are: AVI, MP4, MKV
The players I've tested are: MPC-HC, WMP, Zune Software, VLC

I never have artifacts anywhere else. Never in any games or on video that I'm watching in a browser. Its constantly there when watching video files though.

Now the only media player where this does not happen is in VLC. I'm trying to figure out why. The only codec I've ever installed (seperately from a media player) is FFDshow. I've tried uninstalling it and the artifacts are still there.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Because we use our own codecs, and not FFDshow.
