pick subtitle track using subtitle track id

hi, i've been watching some dual audio animes lately and i managed to figure out ho to switch the defult audio track to japanese quickly enough, but i can not for the life of me make the player pick the second subtitle track, adly there are 2 sub tracks, both marked english, but one is only for the opening and ending, the other is the actuall episode

currently both my subtitle track and subtitla track id are set to -1, been that way by default, now i tried setting them both to 2/-2, and many combinations of numbers between -10 and 10, no success

i would appreciate it very much if any1 could tell me how to get the correct track values to make the player select the second sub track(its second on the list if i wasnt clear before ) and make my life easier, cuz im growing bored of the clicking around to switch tracks for every episode

If there are 2 subtitle tracks automatically loaded with a video, then
Subtitles track [1]
is for the second subtitle stream.

Subtitles track ID takes all loaded streams into account, typically:
Stream 0 - Video,
Stream 1 - Audio,
Stream 2 - Subtitles 0,
Stream 3 - Subtitles 1.
Just check from VLC menu: Tools > Codec Information for all loaded streams while playing a video. Then
Subtitles track ID [3]
forces Subtitles 1 (2-nd subtitle stream) to play by default. It is more powerful than Subtitle Track option.

So recommended settings for you to force the second subtile stream:
Subtitles track [1]
Subtitles track ID [-1]
Just do not forget to Save changes and restart VLC.

Tip, how to disable subtitles by default:
Subtitles track ID [0] << usually Stream 0 is not a subtitle stream, so it is an invalid subtitle stream
or
Subtitles track ID [99] << usually there are not so many streams, so this setting is for no stream at all
So invalid subtitle stream or no stream means disabled subtitles.
