ipad mov files play upsidedown

Postby rogerw » 18 Jan 2013 11:18

How do I rotate the ipad mov files by 180 degrees? I have tried using geometry and the program crashes. Is there a more robust way?

Please upload a short sample of a problematic file to either http://streams.videolan.org/upload/ or to EmbedUpload.com, the latter will upload the file for you to several other hosts and then post the link to the file here.

Thanks for the upload help. I tried streams.videolan but did not know what VLC version or Trac Ticket are? Could you help?

I've managed to upload the clip to: http://www.embedupload.com/?d=2ASTDHRZED
Your help would be most welcome.

Yep, unfortunately VLC is not taking the rotation into account by default:

Code: Select all

Video Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : Baseline@L4.1 Format settings, CABAC : No Format settings, ReFrames : 1 frame Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Rotation : 180°
But you can use the options Transform or Rotate from the menu Tools -> Effects and filters -> Video effects -> Geometry.

Thanks for the reply.
have you tried it and was it successful, because when I tried Geometry rotations the clip either wouldn't run or it crashed?
