Newbie needs help

Postby drunner26.2 » 26 Jan 2013 23:04

:?:
I'm trying to use VLC player to convert a video on my hard disk with the following extension: .720p.BluRay.x264.

I want to play it in my DVD player which accepts .avi .divx .xvid and .mp4 formats.

I keep getting "video resolution not supported" from the DVD. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Dave

MP4 is not a format but a container in which you can put MPEG-4 ASP video (usually Xvid or Divx) and/or MPEG-4 AVC video (H.264).

Make sure your player is able to play H.264/AVC video.
And DVD players often don't allow any resolution over SD, which means nothing larger than 1024*576.
