Play 2 videos with individual and commo controls

Postby HornetMaX » 04 Dec 2012 10:43

Hi all,

I've searched around for this but found no solution.

I have two videos (not necessarily same length, format or whatever) and I want to play them simultaneously (same screen) with:

1. basic controls (play, pause, fwd, rew, ...) individual for each video (acting on each of them independently)
2. basic controls (play, pause, fwd, rew, ...) common to both videos (acting on both at the same time)

For example, start up with both videos in pause, then manually advance on video1 to a given point (using his individual controls) and advance video 2 to a given point, then press play on the common controls so that the two starts together from their respective points.

I'm able to open the two videos in 2 vlc instances (hence I have the individual controls), but I have no way to "send" a "play" to both.

Any simple way to do this ?

MaX.

Do a script and control VLC though the web interface xml requests.

Thanks, but I'm not sue I get it :)

I tried starting 2 vlc instances (one per video file to play) each of them with the "-I http" option, but that does not seems to do what I want ...
