VLC audio distorted - same files in WMP sound fine...

Postby ixodid » 14 Nov 2012 16:27

I have 2.0.4 - for the last month or two (since I reinstalled Windows 7) audio files have been distorted when played back in VLC.

The files I'm playing are MP3. I usually play back files of my telephone conversations and as such, I thought the issue was with the phone recording software.

I just ripped an audio book CD and when I play it in WMP, it sounds good. When I play the exact same files in VLC, it sounds distorted - the type of effect you get when the input is too high (overmodulation?).

Any ideas on how to fix?

Thank you!

Try another audio output module:

And/or some other audio options:
