Converting audio .oma files to MP3 files

TRYING TO CONVERT .OMA (AUDIO) TO MP3

Hello,

I have some old .oma music files that I would like to convert to MP3, using the VLC media player. I tried to follow the steps required, but it doesn't seem to be working. HELP!

This is what I've done:

1) I selected Open File from the Media pull down menu - I selected the desired xxxxx.oma file - It then starts to play

2) I selected 'Convert/Save' from the Media pull down menu

3) I clicked on the Add... button, and added the .oma file that I want to convert

4) On the bottom Convert / Save button, I selected 'Convert' Alt+c

It then shows the source file correctly. Type: file - Destination file: (I entered in the path with the file name as xxxxx.mp3

I entered a file path, where I wanted the newly converted MP3 file to be and the name of the new file (xxxx.mp3)

Under settings, I selected Audio - MP3

And then I click on the Start button at the right bottom corner

But then nothing happens! It doesn't do anything?

What am I doing wrong? Please help!

Is VLC playing these files ?

If so, then open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the conversion and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

If not, then nothing can be done.
