Start movie from a random point

Postby MusX » 08 Oct 2012 07:45

Hello,

I started to use a movie as a desktop wallpaper. Create a bat with vlc.exe and many params. Put it in autostart dir.
Are there any params which makes movie start from a random point?
It's will be much more interesting to see different parts of movie than allways at start the same one.

Thanks!

You can alter a script called "Playlist sampler", a playlist generator, to your needs or try an extension called "Sampler".

Random is Key.. Don't give up

Video without RANDOM gets boring fast.

Don't give up on it.

I have shot over 10,000 MPEG videos most of which are under 2 minutes. You lose touch with your videos unless you can randomly sample them. My Search Engine / Multimedia Player can pick a random video then a random start point and play for a preset number of seconds then another and another.

I wish you luck.
