Playing .vlc files created in .081

Postby fphillips » 01 Oct 2012 09:29

Hi all.

I have a bunch of movies that I transcoded using an older version of VLC. I think it was .81 .08? something like that.

Anyway, they no longer play in version 2.0.2. Any way I can get them to play? There are a couple movies from 2005 that I transcoded that I want to play but cant.

I tried looking it up in the forums, but I don't know enough about it to search effectively.

Thanks

Frank

What are the logs, at least?

Good question...I know vaguely how I encoded them, but they were encoded on an older machine that I've since "retired", so I doubt if I have them.

I know the info on the videos (I still have a machine that has 0.8.2 installed) shows MP4V for video and MPGA audio. Other than that, I'm pretty clueless. For some reason I remember TS3 encoding, but looking at the encoding stuff, I don't see that anymore, so it may have been encoded with an even earlier version of 0.8.2.

The logs when playing, I meant.
