Initial buffering for MMS streams and stream audio delay

Postby reddy » 09 Jun 2012 23:31

Hi,

I want to synchronize audio from the network MMS stream ( mms://stream.polskieradio.pl/program1 ) with video on my TV. Fortunately the audio is a few seconds ahead of the video so simple delay should suffice (Tools | Track Synchronization in VLC). Unfortunately, VLS buffers the stream for ~10s which makes it then behind the video and I can't sync it any more... The same stream opened in Windows Media Player is played back almost instantly.
Why VLC buffers the stream for 10s? Where are the settings to change this behaviour? I tried I think every option I could find in advanced settings about buffering, caching, etc - nothing works :(

Regards,
Reddy.

Because MMS support in VLC is not good.
