VLC Audio Device settings

Postby Trentstar19 » 17 Apr 2012 13:30

Hey Guys

When trying to watch a movie on VLC Player it seems to not like playing audio, both the voices from the cast and the background msuic i can't barely hear. The actual video playing perfectly. I looked in audio then audio devices and can change it from 5.1 to stereo, mono or 2 Front 2 Rear and it works perfectly but as soon as i close VLC player and open it again and start playing the same movie it goes back to its original setting. This also happens with some of my other movies.

My Question is there anyway i can make the audio device change permanently from 5.1 to another setting and also is it the movie files problem that i can't hear the sound because in other movies the audio is perfect.

Thanks

Regards,
Trent S

It depends on the operating system and VLC version. Normally, VLC picks the settings from the operating system.

Operating System is Window XP and the VLC version is 2.0.1. The Movies that i was running were 720p HD and both MP4 files.

VLC picks the default speaker layout from the Sound configuration in the Windows Settings Panel then.

You know what I love? How Rémi decides to give a decent comment to this guy but refuses to help me in this thread with the exact same problem.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=99255

I suppose now you recognize this as an issue when more than one person has a problem with this, eh Rémi?

despite this guy not answering any of the questions you asked me previously. You blow me off as if I'm retarded even though I answered your questions multiple times without coming off as an ass.

Yes this is a new account as the old account would not let me login.

I would like to request assistance from another developer who will take my issue seriously.

Contrary to you, the guy did not try to work around the questions.

"The latest" is not an acceptable answer to the question "what is your VLC version". If you refuse to understand it, that's your problem.

If you are not happy with the free support, you're more than welcome to pay for it.
