Anyone noticed 'wow' effects playing MP3's in VLC 2.*?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Anyone noticed 'wow' effects playing MP3's in VLC 2.*?

Postby Mr. Soundman » 29 Apr 2012 23:03

I'm hearing pitch variations when playing MP3's in VLC 2.0.1 which are not present when playing the same file in e.g. Windows Media Player or Quicktime. These variations are similar to tape 'wow' or off-centre vinyl. I'll try to reproduce and record/compare the outputs of the various players, but I'm just wondering if anybody else has noticed this since V2?

Yes, I do experience the same behaviour and not only with MP3, but I haven't found any solution or workaround yet.

You should create a ticket on the VLC Trac with a link to this thread and a recording of what is happening.
