Help.... I need to covertly copy footage from disk

Postby MaryFaerie » 29 Apr 2012 14:55

Hi everyone. I need to break a story to the newspapers and the evidence of it is ok a disk which I can only play in the presence of lawyers who will not let me copy it - I can't be alone with it or remove it and can only watch it with them, then eject it.

I just need some way of setting VLC to record it to my hard drive, as it plays, without being discernable.

I've tried reading the forums for knowledge on how to do this but all the posts are technical beyond my ability to apply them to my specific need.

I think it's 75% likely it'll be in AVI format as previous edited versions have been. But other format's or encryption are possible....

Any help on this would be beyond appreciated! My laptop uses Windows XP.

Did you try to just hit 'r' to record it?
