Making "Stereo" the default - not sure if OS specific

Postby MedfordTim » 28 Dec 2011 20:46

Lately, a lot of file makers have defaulted their audio to 5.1 which is obviously fine for most but what I get out of it is all the background music with barely audible voices. Yes, all I need do to correct it is to make the change in "Audio". Call me lazy, but it gets to be a pain checking every file before playing. What I'm wondering, since I can't find it or figure it out on my own, is if there is a way to force "Stereo" as the default in VLC, overriding whatever command the maker input? Using version 1.1.11 on Win7 - 64, if that makes any difference. Thanks.

On Windows, the default comes from the Windows audio configuration. Please check your OS settings.
