Logo in VLC 2.01

Postby maitrepiet » 28 Mar 2012 20:03

Hi,
I'm using VLC 2.01 on a Windows 7 PC.

In the advanced settings I select a logo file to be displayed. When I start the video, I get the following error message:
File reading failed:
VLC could not open the file "c:\Eendirectory\flags.png". (%m)

also with the command line option --logo-file= "c:\Eendirectory\flags.png", the logo is not displayed.

The file exists and displays correctly in any image viewer.

Is the logo functionality disabled or changed?

You need to enable the logo video sub-filter too. For more information:
http://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation:Modules/logo

Here's an example (just noticed the topic ID is "88888" :), and excuse my shoddy artwork :P):

If you want to do it in the preferences, in the "Subtitles/OSD" section check the "Logo sub source" tickbox. There are two... one in "Subpictures source module" and one in "Subpictures filter module" (they both work). Assuming they aren't just duplicates, I think it's best to choose the former.

Cheers, Arite.
