Crestron control

Postby tseco » 25 Jan 2012 18:29

Has anyone on here successfully controlled VLC from Crestron or another control system? I've searched the forums and found conversations about it but none that have any conclusion. I have seen the command line reference but I'm not sure how it relates to the options I have from the control system and exactly what a string looks like for what I am trying to do. My intentions aren't elaborate: start recording stream, stop recording stream. If I am successful at this then my next tasks: open VLC, direct it to the appropriate stream, and force it to save to a specific directory. All of this would allow Crestron to make sure the program is running and that all parameters are correct for every session in case they were changed by someone.

I am a newbie here so I hope I am posting this question on the right board. Thanks for any help!
