Deprecate the user mailing lists?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Deprecate the user mailing lists?

Postby dg1727 » 12 Jan 2012 21:23

Hello,

User questions seem to be answered much more quickly on this forum than on the mailing lists. Should whoever manages the website add a note, probably in bold, to http://www.videolan.org/support/lists.php and http://www.videolan.org/developers/lists.html like "User questions tend to be answered more quickly on the forum. The mailing lists are recommended for developer traffic only."? (Where forum is a link to http://forum.videolan.org/)

Thanks in advance for comment.

I agree. I proposed closing the user list a long time ago.

Rémi,

Thanks for your reply. I will let you take this up with the other VLC developers unless you reply to this forum topic and tell me you want me to do something else.

Have a nice weekend.
