Streaming to PS3 via PMS

I use the PS3 Media Server, great product, to stream everything to my PS3. And I have read various comments around the web that I should be able to stream internet radio (sic., Pandora) in this manner, but cannot find simple directions for doing it. I think I have my sound card as the source for VLC streaming (but have no way to test that), and have VLC as the PMS audio encoder, but there is no way to navigate to the stream on my PS3 UMB.

So I either need some complete directions, or to be told that it actually is not possible at this time.

Note: I can access Pandora directly thru the PS3 browser, but it is incredible inefficient and results in lots of sound dropouts.
