Sound files cut off from m-w.com

Postby mrpg64 » 15 Nov 2011 00:47

Hello, I have a problem in windows and linux so I guess this is the correct forum.

Sometimes I download the pronunciation sound files from m-w.com and always the last part is cut off. The sound files are the pronunciation of one word, always the last sound or syllable is cut off. I wonder if anyone else has experimented this. I use windows 7 and the last vlc 1.1.11 win32

For example:

sickness is sickne

consonant is conso

The files are wav.

This is the url for consonant:

In ubuntu linux I tried vlc from the repositories - 1.1.12-2~oneiric1 and same thing, cut off.

I tried banshee in linux and I can hear the sounds allright.

Seems a vlc bug. Any ideas please?
Thank you.

This should be fixed in VLC 1.2.
