subtitle delay issues

Postby introiboad » 14 Nov 2011 18:22

Hi there,

I use subtitle delay extensively with VLC. However, I thought this was an absolute delay: if I delay them with a value of 5 seconds (using the j hotkey) and then advance them 3 seconds (using the h hotkey) the delay should be 2 seconds. However, I see the following:

1) Subtitle delay is inconsistent when you start trying to match subtitles on a running video by pressing j and h repeatedly until you find the perfect match.

2) When going into negative subtitle delays by repeatedly pressing the h hotkey, the video slows down and skips frames, making it much harder to find the correct sync negative delay required by the video + subtitles combination.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
