Downloaded vlc version 1.1.12 and vlcj version 1.2.1-b3.
I get this message: This version of vlcj requires version 1.2.0 or later of libvlc, found too old version 1.1.12 The Luggage
Specifically, I would like to know which version(s) of vljc are compatible with libvic 1.1.12.
Generally, how do I determine the compatibility between version of vlc (and, by implication, of libvic) and version of vlcj.
If there is a systematic way of making the determination, I'd be happy to do the research and contribute a document on this.
Terry.
You're probably in the wrong place if you want vlcj support, it's not the responsibility of the vlc people to support vlcj - it's an external project.
Anyway, the vlcj download page at
http://code.google.com/p/vlcj/downloads/list states that vlcj 1.1.5.1 is used with libvlc (and by inference vlc) 1.1.x.
Also the vlcj project home page at
http://code.google.com/p/vlcj/ says pretty much the same thing:
Version 1.2.0 available, for use with libvlc 1.2.0 and later. (04/05/2011).
Version 1.1.5.1 available, for use with libvlc 1.1.1 and later. (16/01/2011)
I suppose saying "1.1.1 and later" might at first reading imply 1.2.0, but clearly in this context it does not.
