Video missing on Stream Recording

I'm a VLC newbie, so please be patient with me asking silly questions...

I'm able to play a stream perfectly with VLC (H264, MPEG4), but when I try to record it, only the audio stream becomes recorded, no video. Then I tried setting the "Store Raw-Input" option (Reads "Raw-Input speichern" in the german GUI I'm using) but this results in the following message:
"No suitable demux module"
As VLC can perfectly play the stream, there should be no real problem to record it, but there seems to miss some information on demuxing the stream at the time recording should start what in playback can be determined later from reading the stream?
