audio in multiple windows

Postby SnakeAO » 13 Oct 2011 22:15

Hi there,

my question is about runing vlc with multiple windows. When I bring up more than one window with different content (e.g. one movie, one recorded tv programm), both will play audio so I will end up with a mix of different audio streams. Of course, I could reduce volume in one window to zero when I switch from one window to the other. But this means I have to switch of sound in the window I turn from an switch on sound in the window I turn to which is kind of annoying when I switch often.

Is there any possibilty to make vlc play only the sound of the "active window", so that I just hear the sound of one movie/programm ?

Thanks for your help,
Franz

No, VLC does not provide audio policy.

In my opinion, this is out-of-scope anyway. That should be done by the operating system.
