How to easily switch a certain subtitle on and off

Hi!
Is there a way to switch subtitles on and off without going through every subtitle? For example, I have chosen subtitle track 6 out of 22. I would just like to switch the subtitles off, and at a later point back to that same track. Going manually through them to 22 and then 0 to switch them off, and later to 6 to switch it back on, is just ridiculously cumbersome, there's got to be an easier way, I just haven't found any hotkey in the settings.

From the menu, you can select the subtitle directly from the drop down list.

I know those two options already, and both involve several steps / instances while the action is very elementary = bottom line: cumbersome. I wonder whether other people are missing the same option as well and whether it would be possible to include this in a future version of the program. I try to watch movies without subtitles, but occasionally I have to put them back on, but then it's too much of a hassle - yet.
