VLC and capture devices

I have searched the wiki and forums and haven't really found out a way to accomplish this task. I have a system with a 4 channel capture card that has 3 cameras and a desktop feed. I was able to figure out how to display 1 source to capture but is there a way to toggle the sources during the capture process? I would like to toggle cameras during the capture without interrupting the feed/capture process.
