how to find time video was recorded

Postby timerecorded » 21 Sep 2011 14:52

Hi,
is there a way to find the time the video was recorded ? All I can find are the times the file was created, modified and accessed.
I recorded a video using my cellphone and need the time recorded as evidence. Thanks.

Apologies if this was answered already, I searched the forum without success.

Normally, the file creation time is the time the file was recorded (or converted from another file). But it is easy to fake so it won't hold as any kind of evidence.

Thank you for responding. I recorded at about 8:30 am and transferred to my computer at 9:48 am. Only the 9:48 time appears and that changes each time I move the file. is there a way to time stamp a video that is tamper proof ? or at least detectable if tampered with ? Thanks again.
