Specific Blu-ray M2TS: audio/video scrambled

Postby Romansh » 18 Sep 2011 16:53

When playing the following sample in VLC: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37259775/00800_96M.m2ts, audio and video are scrambled.

I tested VLC 1.1.11 under OS X 10.6.8 (64-bit) and Windows 7.
I also tested VLC 1.1-branch-intel64-20110918-0209 under OS X 10.6.8.

avplay (version v0.7-919-gd763fb7), ffplay (version N-32611-gd55b06b) and MPlayer (OS X Extended r14) don't play the sample particularly smoothly (at least on my machine), but it's not scrambled like in VLC.

This sample is broken as the TS contains errors, it has been badly made.
A simple remux to M2TS with tsMuxeR fixes it.
