What exactly happens when i play a HD movie on a smal screen

Postby Hardthof » 07 Sep 2011 17:07

What exactly happens when i play a HD movie on a small screen?

Say I have an 1920x1080 HD Movie and my screen only supports 1280x1024, how does the pixel mapping work?

Will the video quality improve if i reencode the movie to 1280x1024?

Thanks for replys, eventough it might not be vlc specific ;)

Normally, the graphic adapter will downscale the video transparently.
