Automatically launch VLC in DVD insert

Postby dinozzo » 05 Sep 2011 01:43

How can I set VLC to automatically open up the VLC application once a DVD is inserted? Of course I can open file in VLC, locate, and play the desired file that way but to autorun, how is this done? I managed to successfully add VLC autoplay handlers to the corresponding drive in the individual drop windows in properties but when I insert a DVD nothing happens. I also tried double-clicking the DVD drive with the intention of using the VLC application but instead the Windows Media Player tool opens. Note: A few months ago I used the free trial version of the AVG PC Tuneup 2011 tool and I remember during a scan the recommended action was to disable all autoplay/runs, maybe this has something to do with this.
