How to get rid of subtitles?

Postby QueenoftheNight » 28 Aug 2011 21:46

It seems like no matter what video file I play with vlc it has subtitles. If I play the file with another program it doesn't have them so it has to be something with vlc. How do I turn them off or get rid of them?

I guess you may have TXT files, and/or some other ones like SRT files, in the same folder as your videos which might be automatically played by VLC.
Either get rid of these files or turn the subtitles off with the menu option Video -> Subtitles Track -> Disable.

Actually I do have those files in there and I didn't know what they were. I'll also double check the settings. Thank you!

On another note, does anyone know if it is possible to Rename subtitles? As one of my .srt files just says "Track 10"?
