"Next chapter/title" issue when playing back a dvd iso file

I made an dvd iso file from two mpeg files. The first one is set to jump back to title 1 after playback (looped), the second one is also set to jump to title 1 after playback. So, the second one is only played when pressing "next chapter" button during playback of title 1 (for those interested: title 1 has the function like a start menu).
So far so good. In the first run everything is fine. If I press "next chapter" during playback of title 1, it jumps to title 2 and plays back title 2. After that it jumps to title 1 again. But after jumping back to title 1, the "next chapter" button isn't working anymore. I can press "previous chapter" and then "next chapter" is working again but for my purpose it is necessary that it works right away.
Is there a solution for this issue?? Thousand thanks in advance.

I use VLC 1.1.11 with Windows Vista.

I just found out that the playback is jumping back to title 1 but at the same time when I click "Playback > Title" title 2 is still highlighted. So is there a mismatch between what is being displayed and what is being selected? Any solutions?
