Audio File displays wired picture

Postby bennym85 » 25 Jul 2011 21:49

Hello,

once My friends and I have recorded one of our music sessions on CD
I ripped that CD on iTunes as an M4A File. That particular file can be played of course. But now comes the issue:
on a pc (win7) of a friend of mine, the VLC displays a picture while playing the audio file.
the picture looks to me like a bruteforce attack... can somebody explain me that issue?
after seeing this on her pc, I updated the VLC to the latest version. First this picture wouldn't come back,
but shortly after playing the file, it came back. Do You have any idea of what could be wrong here?

So the answer to this question is that m4a is a container format that can include still images and other stuff along with the audio content. Who knows why it happened to your file, but I have a follow up question: I listen to a podcast that apparently includes still images in the m4a/aac "feed". But only teh first one shows up and remains there throughout the file. Is this a VLC bug?
